My first post

After having lost my old Samsung camera, I am now searching for a new one – anyone with experience on Leica’s Digilux 2?
This is the Flickr of Sofia Ander – what a wonderful girl!

Update.
I found this blog with a few pictures taken with a Digilux 2 (and a wide angle converter), http://brainwalker.wordpress.com/2008/03/10/29/ .. what marvelous pictures.

Thanks for posting my picts.
And to yor question about the Digilux 2:
i´ve got mine since 4 years. And i`m realy happy with it until now. But it is a photographic camera, not a point and shoot. So if you have time and leisure making photos, it is one of the best. Like i said it is not a point and shoot, cause some details like the slow auto focus, the limited iso and the weight oppose this. My solution for that is a cheap Fuji F31FD as a appendix and this works perfect for me.
Regards
BW
P.S.
Have a look at my making of picts from a documentary about the opera singer Hermann Prey. Most of the photos where taken with the Digilux.

Hi BW,
thank you for the reply! I’m sorry if I haven’t followed conduite and messaged you that I posted your pictures – I must say though, that I find them quite incredible.
The Digilux 2 is a rangefinder camera, as I understand it, but fitted with a sharp lens – though a slow one – and I think that it would be a good first mid-level camera for me. I have had a Nikon for some time and I always carry with me my Samsung NVxx as it s intuitive and take quite okay pictures (myspace.com/sxekaninen).
In regards to timelock.in; I looked through all your pictures right after finding the above-posted Digilux pictures I can only compliment you on the work, for you take great pictures! Very inspirational.

No reason for sorry and it`s nice to hear that you like the photos. To the DL2: it is no real rangefinder camera cause it have an electronic viewfinder. purists hate that form of finder but i have no problems with it. Cause after taking a photo i`ve got a control preview without taking my eyes from the viewfinder. And can take a new photo direct. And the 5 million pixels are good enough cause of having an excellent lens. If you want to have more informations about the camera, check out this website from the godfather of digilux 2 http://www.overgaard.dk/leica_digilux2.html
Best regards
